Enterprise Audio-Visual Integration for Consumer Research
Norvet delivered a fast-track A/V integration for L&E Research on a Procter & Gamble-sponsored engagement, including static and mobile capture environments under a compressed timeline.
Primary Timeline
Apr 1-11, 2025
Installation, commissioning, and staff training window.
Major Change Request
Apr 17, 2025
Union Terminal redesign requiring mobile capture architecture.
Video Capture Footprint
26 Cameras
18 AVer PTZ cameras plus 8 Luma bullet cameras across the facility.
Encoding Stack
7 Epiphan Units
Five Pearl Mini encoders and two Pearl-2 units for centralized streaming.
The Challenge
The client needed specialized recording and streaming environments deployed across multiple test zones under a fast-track schedule, then had to absorb a late-stage redesign requiring mobile capture architecture and stable long-distance signal distribution.
The Solution
Norvet engineered the local A/V network backbone, deployed PTZ and bullet cameras, solved long-distance 4K distribution through SDI-over-coax workarounds, and routed audio and video into centralized live-stream encoding hardware.
The Outcome
The project delivered a state-of-the-art observational testing facility on time and enabled immersive, multi-angle consumer research without the behavioral contamination caused by static intrusive hardware.
Operational Challenge
The Blue Ash facility needed multiple isolated observational zones, including the Union Terminal, Dog Wash Room, and Queen City Room, to capture real-time consumer behavior data for Procter & Gamble stakeholders.
The project was heavily time-constrained, and the technical scope expanded further when a late-stage change request replaced static capture assumptions with a mobile-first observation model in the Union Terminal mock-shopping space.
Engineering Stack
- Cisco Meraki MS250-48FP switching supported the broader backbone.
- An Extreme Networks switch was used to isolate and prioritize AVB and Dante traffic.
- Video capture included AVer TR323NV2 PTZ cameras and Luma 420 bullet cameras.
- Long-distance 4K distribution was stabilized by using SDI-to-HDMI conversion over coax instead of fragile HDMI extenders.
- Mobile capture used camera-enabled smart glasses, body-worn wireless cameras, Marshall POV systems, and TeraDek wireless bridges.
- Audio capture combined Shure Microflex overhead microphones with wireless lavalier systems for mobile subjects.
Business Outcome
The completed environment gave stakeholders an immersive, low-latency observational platform that captured real user behavior in a highly configurable way.
The engagement demonstrated Norvet's ability to absorb fast-moving scope changes while threading networking, hardware, and streaming constraints without losing delivery momentum.
